Sympathy Cards

Sympathy cards are a challenge. Here are a couple I made recently using watercolour paper. On this one I used Distress Inks and spritzed some water on the inks and then took a heat tool to it to dry.

The flower die cut is called, Tall Chloe Stem, and it's from Memory Box. I attached some black enamel bling on the round petals. The precious little birdie die cut is also from a Memory Box set called Resting Birds. The wooden heart is from Studio Calico and the sentiment is from an old Stampin' Up! rubber stamp set.

On this one, I used a technique I found on Pinterest. I ripped off a piece of masking tape and inked up the sticky side with some ColourBox Chalk inks, (used the Q Pumpkin Patch set), then placed tape down on some watercolour paper (doesn't have to be watercolour paper; it's what I had handy), and press down, then take off the tape. Love the effect! Spritzed some Glimmer Mist on top as well.
The flower die cut is called Arianna Sprig from Memory Box, and I used the same birdie die cut, and another Studio Calico wooden heart, inked with Distress Ink Aged Mahogany.
Added some sequins and script Washi tape.

This is the sentiment stamp I used for both cards on the inside. It's from Impression Obsession.

Starting a 2 week vacation! Looking forward to rest, relaxation and getting inky!

Birthday Card

"Today is a good day"

This is a birthday card I made for Mike's "niece", Courtney. Her birthday is tomorrow, the day after mine. When she was little we would celebrate our birthdays together with ice cream cake from DQ! Yum!
Alas, she's all grown up now and getting married in August! Where does the time go?!
This fabulous paper is from MME, Sky's the Limit 6x6 pad. The heart is a die cut from PaperArtsy, called "Tall Heart" The sentiment are stickers from Tim Holtz "Small Talk". Tinted the seam binding with Distress Victorian Velvet, and added some bling and cheesecloth!

The inside. The sentiment stamp is from Whimsy Stamps, Birthday Greetings. The pink mini bag is for gift card or money.

Summer Pocket Letters Sent & Received

Love those wild and crazy retro housewives! This is a pocket letter I made for Sara in Quebec for a Canadian pocket letter swap group on Facebook. This one was so much fun, I might make another one for myself! Lol!

And this is the back with all the goodies!

This is a bee themed pocket letter I made for Valentina who lives in Alberta, for the same Facebook swap group. As some of you know, I am not a yellow loving person. It has to be the right shade, and I don't mind this shade. I do like the coral/peach colour with it. It was all part of a kit by Authentique.

This is the back with all the goodies.

Here are the pocket letters I received from Sara and Valentina:

Love the images! So pretty! Crisp and summery! Love the shaker pocket in the middle!

Here is the back with all the goodies and a very nice letter. She sent me earrings too! Purple!

Another summery pocket letter! Love the colours and embellies! Check out the charms on the left!

Here is the back with the goodies. She crocheted around the buttons. Love them!

This is the envelope Valentina had the pocket letter in, and then was mailed in a mailing envelope! So pretty!

Great fun these pocket letters are! They are time consuming. I think I will get back into them again in the fall.

Thanks ladies! Appreciate you swapping with me!

Bird Crazy & a Flower

"A party without cake is just a meeting"

Finally! I got my Bird Crazy stamps inky! I just love this set! Such a great quote too. It is from Tim Holtz Small Talk sticker sheets.
His party hat is also from Tim Holtz and part of his blueprint stamp series.
Used Prima Watercolour Pencils, Spring & Fall set as well as Faber-Castell's Artist's Watercolour Pencils set. Still learning the art of watercoloring!
The feather is from either from the Dollar Store or Atlantic Fabrics. Feathers and sequins seem to be my thing right now!
This is a birthday card for a dear friend.

This is the inside. The cupcake is also from Tim Holtz, blueprint series of stamps. I used some Liquid Appliqué on the icing and then used a heat gun to make it puffy. Added some Stickles Lime Green on top. Fun!

Here's another watercolour card I made. This was for a bridal shower. I used various flower die cuts.
Instead of watercolour pencils on this one, I used Distress Inks and water.
Added some sequins (of course!) on the side.

Hot, hot, hot here today! Hope you're finding the time to get crafty!
