Pocket Letters...Say What?

My monthly Crafty Group usually picks a project for our meets. This month we picked Pocket Letters, as it seems to be the in thing! Sort of the pen pal idea.
Here is a link to the creator of Pocket Letters and what they're all about: Janette Lane Pocket Letter Guide. Also check out the Pocket Letter Facebook page, where you can see pocket pages from all over the world and get into swaps. Some good videos on YouTube as well.
This one was sent to a crafty friend, Laurie. I made this using the G45 Secret Garden collection. In the pockets I tucked away buttons, bling, lace, tea, and even birdseed!

This one I sent to another crafty friend here in NS, Valerie. I made this one using another G45 collection, Couture. In the pockets I tucked away, feathers, bling, washi tape, buttons, ephemera and tea.

This is the "mail art" Laurie sent with her PL to me. She is a very talented artist! Love Alice!

The PL Laurie sent to me. I love it! The little kitty top right she drew and is my Abby cat! It's on an magnet so I can put it on the fridge! Also got some tea, washi tape, kitty stamps, stars and bling! Awesome!

Valerie's PL to me. How vintage is this! I love it! The centre pocket is an embroidered piece from her wedding dress! In the pockets I found some lace, ribbon, bling, fabric, buttons, music paper, tissue sewing paper and more! Beautiful!

This can be very addicting! I am working on another one. If you haven't tried a Pocket Letter, check it out!

We got more snow again last night! About 15cm! It's spring, right?! Hopefully that is the end of it! Cross your fingers!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a crafty week!

My First Artist Trading Block!

This was a project I started a couple of weeks ago at my Crafty Night Monthly Meet. My goal this year is to finish projects I start!
Lots of stuff going on here! Used TH Wallflower 12x12 paper set sealed to wood block using Mod Podge. The block is 3 1/2 in. squared.
I raided my spring display stuff for the grassy stuff and foliage, including nest. The eggs were also from my stash and hot glued in place. Used a lot of hot glue on this baby!
Birds, flowers, eggs, were cut out and popped up with foam. Feathers were from Atlantic Fabrics. Also used some Dew Drops and charms. Flower and butterfly were punched out using TH Wallflower Vellum set.

The base is a metal film reel I picked up at a yard sale last fall.

This is what it looked like just after I Mod Podged the paper on to the block.

Entering this in:

1. Simon Says, Things That Fly / Simon Wednesday Challenge
2. Art with Heart Challenge March "Go Green"

ATB's or Artist Trading Blocks are really in right now. If you Google, you will find all sorts of videos and awesome creations!

Hope you give it a go! I will be making more! Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful crafty day!

Birthday card and a freebie!

One of my fav paper collections from Prima is Epiphany. Love the look of it. First time I made an A2 card! (4.25 in. x 5.5in.).
The bling is also part of the Epiphany set. Used the TH doily die at the bottom. Cut out the journaling card and used the butterfly from the co-ordinating stamp set and popped them both up with foam.

The inside. The sentiment is from a stamp set from Hero Arts.
The back.

Made this card for Kim, the owner and operator of The Cutting Garden. Happy birthday Kim. Hope it was special!

Here is a vintage postcard I picked up last fall at a yard sale. Are they not the cutest couple?! Free for you to use in your personal craftiness!

Have a fabulous crafty weekend! Where the heck is spring?!
