Sympathy Card

Sympathy cards can be a challenge to make. You don't want to make them too fancy. I have a hard time making "simple" cards. I like to layer..a lot!
I dug out my embossing folders. Haven't used in a while. This one is Tim Holtz and it's the Book Cover 2.
The feather! LOVE! This feather is one of 6 die cuts from Spellbinders Shapeabilities line, called "Feathers". I cut it out using Tim Holtz Kraft Glassine Paper.
Couldn't help myself and did a little layering! Under the feather is a piece of drywall tape, cheesecloth, and a skeleton feather. A twine bow around the bottom of the feather and added some photo corners to finish off.
I lightly went over the embossing folder with some Distress Ink Old Paper.

Another feather from the set. Sentiments are from an old Stampendous! stamp set called, "Thinking of You".

This is the Spellbinders Shapeabilities Feather die set. I purchased mine at The Cutting Garden

I keep telling myself that I will make a batch of sympathy cards to have on hand, but that hasn't happened yet.

Weekend is coming up. Mild here today; 17C for goodness sakes! Not complaining!

  Thanks for stopping by!

Halloween and Thanksgiving cards

Close up of this great verse!

Thanksgiving card. This one I gave to Mike's dad.

Gave this card to Mike's aunt Dorothy.

I made a couple of Thanksgiving cards and Halloween cards at a crop a couple of weeks ago. Paper used on all cards, is from Graphic 45.

I didn't use my light box to photograph the cards. I just layed them on a table. Turned out ok. Prefer the light box. Hoping to make more Halloween cards, but time is running out!

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you have a great weekend and are getting crafty!

A Carousel Birthday Card

I had been eyeing this carousel horse stamp at Michael's, but I'm glad I restrained myself, because I picked this stamp up at a yard sale last month for $3!
I stamped it on a Prima watercolour tag, then using Distress Inks pads, smushed them on an acrylic block, and with a water brush, randomly added colours to the stamped image.
I then flicked some water on top and dried with my heat tool. Ripped the top and bottom, inked with DI Gathered Twigs and attached to a patterned Prima tag; cut bottom of tag off to fit kraft card.
Along the side I used my Swiss Cheese edge punch and inked around holes with DI.
The sentiment is from CTMH stamp set call Something Splendid, which I also picked up from a yard sale last spring. Punched the tag hole through the card, and added seam binding.

Used another Prima tag for the inside, and same technique on watercolour paper for the sentiment. This stamp is from the Whimsy Stamps set, Birthday Greetings.
I used the top of the tag that I cut off for the inside and attached here for my stamp and date. The Prima tags; watercolour pad and patterned tags pad, I bought at my local crafty store, The Cutting Garden.

I made this tag for Mike's aunt Janette, who is celebrating her birthday today! Happy Birthday Janette!

Gorgeous weather we are having; 20C for Pete's sake! Although, we may get a piece of that hurricane on the weekend; not too bad though.

Hope all my Canadian friends and family had a fabulous Thanksgiving weekend! Love turkey!

Thanks for stopping by and leaving a word or two! Muchly appreciated.
