Art Journal - Page 3

I finally completed my 3rd page in my art journal! I saw this roller babe stamp (Life Is Fun by Suzi Blu), at The Cutting Garden and I had to buy her!
Spent half my youth at the local roller rink! I used a couple of lines from the 1971 song by Melanie, called "Brand New Key" ("I got a brand new pair of roller skates, you got a brand new key"), which I can't get out of my head now! She is paper pieced along with the flower.
This mixed media page has everything on it, except the kitchen sink! Used stencils, acrylic paints, washi tapes, rub-ons, you name it! Lots of fun!
In case you missed the first 2 pages, here are the links: Page 1  Page 2

The roller skate key is an image of a real key, I got off the web. Same with the ticket and words. The bricks are TCW stencil, called "Mini Bricks". I then stamped over top of them with a music background stamp. The circles are also from a TCW stencil, called "Well Round". Flower stamp is paper pieced. From the Fontwerks "Flower Power" stamp set.
Black chalkboard heart is a sticker. Wooden hearts ink stained Victorian Velvet. And cheesecloth of course!

One of my favourite stencils used here. TCW Mini Bubble Doily. I used modelling paste and added Gelatos to colour it here and there. I also stamped a word background stamp on top of it.
The owl, bird, pointy finger, crown, and words on left are all rub-ons. Had them for ages! Didn't know if they would work or not. Turned out great!

Baby Boy Card

It's a boy! My first baby card! My friend Louise, became a granny a couple of weeks ago, so she had a shower for her daughter-in-law. I haven't been to a shower in about 15 years or so!
I don't have any baby stamps; sentiments or images. I found this cute image on Pinterest. All the paper is from Authentique, Suave set. Added a button, 3 Dew Drops and some cheesecloth. Used my flag punch and corner punch, Nesties ovals, and Sizzix fancy tag set, which I embossed with my Cuttlebug tiny hearts embossing folder.
This verse also came from Pinterest. Printed it off on vellum and attached with TH Tiny Attacher.

Happy Mother's Day Card

A Mother's Day card using my favourite paper, Graphic 45! This paper is from The Secret Garden line. Thanks to Louise for letting me borrow her sentiment stamp, as my mom and mother-in-law are no longer with us. I made this card with both of them in my thoughts.
Love my new die cut! It's the Tim Holtz Ornate Frame. Very shabby looking!

Gorjuss Girl in Paris

Another card I made using the "I Gave You My Heart" Gorjuss Girls rubber stamp set. I paper pieced her as well. All paper is from my all time favourite paper set, MME Union Square/The Station. I bought at least 3  6x6 pads of this line when it first came out. Have a little left. Boo!
Hearts are Spellbinders Classic Hearts Nesties, and MS butterfly punches. Added a little bit of party streamer to the hem of her dress.

The inside. This sentiment was on the paper and thought it fit her to a tee!

It's hump day! Come on spring! Wore my sandals for the first time this week. Not a good idea. My toes were red and freezing by the time I got home (I take the bus). Socks and shoes are back on. *sigh*

Have a great creative week and thanks for stopping by! Muchly appreciated!

Gorjuss Girls Cards

How sweet is she! This is one of the Gorjuss Girls rubber stamp sets. This particular one is called, "I Gave You My Heart"
I paper pieced her. All papers used are from the 6x6 pad set, "Delight" by Prima. Beautiful paper! The ruffle on the side is party streamer from the DollarStore.

The inside. Two sentiments: Happy Birthday or Happy Mother's Day. Could leave blank or it could also be a Thank You card.

Slightly different front on this one.

Different inside as well.

Love these stamps. Here is what the stamp set looks like. The book is also in this set, but it's hidden under the banner at the bottom
For you local crafters, I bought the paper pad and stamp set from Kim at The Cutting Garden

Have a fabulous creative Sunday! I do believe spring is kinda here?! One can only hope!
