I Like My Shabby Little Bike

"What a wonderful delightful extraordinary day"

I know. There's yellow on my card. Not a big fan of yellow. It has to be the right shade. I like the yellow-orange-red shade, leaning towards gold.
We just bought bikes, and now I'm looking at dies, punches and stamps of bicycles; more on the vintage, shabby side.
This is a great wood mounted rubber stamp from Inkadinkado. All paper used is from 2 6x6 pads, MME Lost & Found - Antique, and Glitz Sunshine in My Soul. The flower is from Michaels $1.50 bin, sentiment is from the MME set, and MS eyelet punch at the bottom. Tinted some seam binding with DI Scattered Straw and added chalk to the flowers in the basket.

The inside. Sentiment stamp from Michaels $1.50 bin.

Sunshine Wishes

Don't you just love her boots?! This is a stamp I bought at my local paper craft store, The Cutting Garden a while ago and have been anxious to ink her up.
I paper pieced her. My fav technique! Her name is Madison and she is from Stamping Bella, a Canadian stamp company!
All paper is from MME Follow Your Heart 6x6 pad. The brad is also from this MME set. Sentiment is from ClearArtStamps Bathing Beauties set.
I used some tulle to tuck under her dress and punched out some hearts with a MS punch. Added some pink chalk to her cheeks, and Chocolate Atyou Spica glitter to her dress.
The inside. The sentiment, an Irish Proverb, is from the Whimsy Stamp set, Birthday Greetings, which I also got from Kim at The Cutting Garden. Great birthday set!

Pop Up Anniversary Card

This was a lot of fun to make! I made this for Mike for our anniversary, which is today! 31 years! Wow! Where did the time go!
Papers are from the Graphic 45 Typography set, and a couple pieces from their Steampunk Spells set. Also used a lot of the sentiments and words from the Typography sheets; 12x12 and 8x8.
The cool clipboard piece is from the Tim Holtz Mini Clipboard set. I cut it out on  Grunge Paper and inked it with DI Pumice Stone and Black Soot.

The 3 flaps, tops:
I scanned our wedding matches and popped them up on the front on top of some cheesecloth. Added a Tim Holt pen nib.

The back:

The 3 flaps, backs. I have an elastic around it to hold the flaps up so you can see underneath. This gear paper is from the Graphic 45 Steampunk Spells set:

The 3 base sections. This one has our wedding invitation. I scanned it, and shrunk it to fit.

The insides. Used strips of acetate or plastic to attach hearts, etc.:

6.2.5 means: June 25th, the day we got married back in 1983

31 is for the number of years we have been married, as of today!

I scanned in our wedding photo; shrunk it and put our heads under a piece of Tim Holtz Film Ribbon. The 3 little wood word stick pins, I found in my stash and were perfect for this project!

There is no bottom, so you can collapse it and mail it.

This was a project I made in my monthly crafty group. Thanks to Melanie for her instructions! You can find instructions and videos on how to make this on the web, Pinterest and Youtube. Splitcoaststampers has a good video on this. They are also called explosion boxes, or explosion card.

Hope you give it a go, if you haven't already! I will be making another one for sure! Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful creative week!

Scribbly Birds Card

"A bird does not sing because it has an answer.
It sings because it has a song"

New stamps! I LOVE this stamp set by Dina Wakely called, "Scribbly Birds". I made this card for my monthly crafty group for the card swap. It now resides with Carol! I drew Janice's name, and received a beautiful flora card.
Paper set used on this card is from Theresa Collins "Vintage Finds" 6x6 pad.
Added some doodle rub-ons from the Christy Thomlinson "Doodle Art Stitches" set. Lovely lace is from my local fabric store. Flowers are MS Hydrangea 3-in-1 punch and matching larger punch. The sentiment is also from the Scribbly Birds stamp set.
I stamped the bird on white watercolour paper, then added Distress Inks; Stormy Sky and Spiced Marmalade.
I then spritzed with water, and dried with my heat tool. Added some pink chalk to cheek, and brown pencil to legs and beak. Popped him up with foam dots.
I always like to add some Distress Stickles, Rock Candy to my flowers to give it a crunchy feel.
The inside. "Tweet. Chirp" also came with the Scribbly Birds stamp set.

The back

This is the stamp set with all the other cute little birdies! For you locals, I got this set from Kim, at The Cutting Garden

A Typographical Father's Day

"It's a good day do have a good day"

Love Graphic 45! All the paper on this card is from the Typography 8x8 pad set. I used a Ranger #12 Giant Kraft tag and folded it in half.
Added some black sequin waste (also known as Punchinella), which I got cheap at the local fabric store.
Dabbed on a bit of Distress Stain Picket Fence for a white wash effect, added a pen nib, and some pointy finger tissue tape. Tied the shoelace through the hole and secured with a knot. It has a ruler pattern on it! Tucked some cheesecloth under the sentiment too.
Thought it would be perfect for Rod, my father-in-law, as he loves to read and does crossword puzzles. He is 91 years young!

Extra! Extra! Read All About It!

Happy Birthday Mike!

Love, Love, Love this stamp set! It's called "Paperboy" and it's from Artistic Outpost. I bought it through my local paper craft store, The Cutting Garden
I made this card for Mike's birthday, which is today! I thought this would be a perfect stamp set, as I work in the library at The Chronicle Herald, Nova Scotia's newspaper, and still a family owned newspaper!

The die cuts used are "Mini Cabinet Card" and "Vintage Cabinet Card", both by Sizzix/Tim Holtz. Love them! The pen nib is from a box of nibs from the '40s (original box!), that I found at a yard sale. Great find!

I used a lot of foam pop-ups on this card! Love the 3d look!
I got the newspaper headline from this site: Newspaper Headline Generator. Cool, eh?! The sentiment stamp is from Stampendous!, which I stamped on vellum and also wrote my own little thing on vellum.
All paper used is from KaiserCraft "Base Coat". I used the brick sheets. I ran them through the Cuttlebug with EF "Bricks", to give it a texture. Added some tissue tape.

This is the fabulous Paperboy stamp set, by Artistic Outpost. As you can see, I didtn't use all the stamps for this card.
