Merry Christmas!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Christmas with family and friends! Posting some cards I made. I didn't make as many as I wanted to. I just couldn't get into making them this year; lost my mojo! This jolly Santa card I made for Mike's dad, Rod.

Here are some more:

I made this card for Mike. We were in Brugges Belgium in August and I found this winter scene of a photo we took when we were there and made a card for him.

I made this guy in an altered bottle class. Love it! So much fun! I now look at bottles in a totally different way! Endless possibilities!

I made some Peppermint Sugar Body Scrub as gifts.

Thank you for stopping by and leaving a word or two! I appreciate every visit and every word!

Danish Christmas

Don't you love it when everything comes together, the stars are aligned and you get giddy because you found the perfect paper and image?!
My friend Joan asked me if I would make a Christmas card for her son Alex's girlfriend, who is Danish. They are both living in Copenhagen, but Alex got a job in Ontario (Canada), and they are preparing to move.
Joan wanted to send her a Christmas card with a Danish/Canadian flavour, because she is a little apprehensive about the move to Canada. Boy what a challenge!
I found this postcard with this little fellow and Danish greeting, on the web.
He is Nisse, a Danish mischievous elf. I printed him off on glossy cs, and the then used my Sizzix Framelits Fancy Tags die cuts. This fabulous paper which had the right shade of matching green, is from my fav company, Authentique. This set is called "Festive"
Snowflakes are Cheery Lynn ; 3 different flakes staked together with green Dew Drops. The doily die cut is Italian Flourish from Cheery Lynn. Ribbon is tinted with Distress Ink, Mahogany.

The inside. Sentiment stamps are TH, and Hero Arts. As you can see, I added the Danish and Canadian flags in the heart.

The back.

Hope you are getting all you shopping done, Christmas cards made and mailed! Thanks for stopping by and leaving a word or two! Muchly appreciated!

Looks Like Tom Selleck?

Don't you think? Every time I look at this stamp I think of Magnum! He is of course from the Tim Holtz stamp set called "Time Travelers"
Made this for my father-in-law's birthday. He turned 91! Happy Birthday Rod! Love how this turned out. Very manly man, and who doesn't like Tom Selleck?!
Background is Tim Holtz Texture Fade called "Collage". Inked it up with Distress Inks, Vintage Photo, Weathered Wood, Gathered Twigs and Black Soot around the edges. Letters and background paper is TH also.
Sentiment is a stamp I bought at a scrapbooking yard sale at The Cutting Garden, a local paper craft store. The chain stamp is from an Inkadinkado stamp set called, "Gadgets".
I paper pieced him and used some different shades of brown pencils to highlight here and there. I also glued him onto Grungeboard and cut him out again. He pops out, although you can't really tell by the photo.

Inside. Sentiment is from the Hero Arts "Birthday Messages" stamp set.

Monday again! Hope everyone is getting their Christmas shopping done, and cards made! Yikes! 4 weeks today is Christmas Eve!

Have a wonderful week and thanks for stopping by and leaving a word or two!

Old Skates

I made another folded tag. The other one I did is HERE. This was made for my crafty group card swap. It now resides with Karen!
Love this paper! It's from Kaisercraft Base Coat set. This sheet is very rustic, vintage. When I saw this stamp of a pair of old skates, at my local paper craft store, The Cutting Garden, I had to have it! The stamp is called "Ice Skates" by Stampendous. Not your typical figure skates, and I think that's why I love them!
I paper pieced it, using off white paper with some DI Pumice Stone. I then stamped the skates on white glassine ; cut out ;wrinkled and glued on top to give the skates a "worn leather" look. Loved the look and feel it has. Added some white flock to the top of the boots and laced them up with baker's twine.
The snowflake is made of 3 different snowflakes layered. The die is from Memory Box. Seam Binding ribbon was tinted with DI Weathered Wood and some Vintage Photo.

The inside. On the left are mittens stamped with an old stamp I had in my stash; paper pieced. The right side has a an old photo frame sticker from K&Company, with a sentiment stamp from an old Hero Arts set with the same name.

The back.

With Sympathy...

Sympathy cards can be difficult sometimes to make. I keep saying I will make some and put aside and I will have them when needed, but I never do. I think it's because it's personal and I tend to make them (when I do), with the person or family in mind.
This was made for a family friend. My mother-in-law's best friend's sister passed away last week. My mother-in-law passed away several years ago, but her friend, June, still keeps in touch with us.
When trying to decide on what to make, I came across an old Stampin' Up! set I bought at my demonstrator's yard sale one year. The set is called "Pattern of Friendship" and one of the stamps is these 2 lovely ladies on a dress pattern. This reminded me of June very much; very vintage. Her and her sister were crafty; sewing, knitting, you name it! The papers are from the Pinkpaislee "Hope Chest" 6x6 paper pad set. I typed out the sentiment on my computer and then printed it out on vellum.

The inside. I found the sentiment on the web and typed it in Word and then printed it on vellum.

Here are some other sympathy cards I have made in the past. I don't believe I posted them before:

Remembrance Day weekend. Time to pause and remember those we have lost and fought for our freedom.

Tiny Birthday Wishes

This is a tiny tag card I made for Shannon's birthday. Shannon is Mike's cousin. I took a Prima tag which is 9 1/2 " x 4 1/2 " and folded it in half.
The stamps used are Tim Holtz Blueprints birthday set, which I paper pieced. the banners are from a set of stamps I bought at a yard sale. Papers used are from Prima's Delight 6x6 paper pad set. Loved making this!
This inside of the card.
The left side, inside the card. I used some TH Tissue Tape down the fold.
The right side, inside the card. This sentiment stamp is from an old Hero Arts birthday set, which I stamped on a TH ticket.

And of course, the back.
