Stampotique In Pink, Purple & Black

Got new stamps! This is Sheer and she's pretty in pink...purple & black! Love the Daniel Torrente stamps from Stampotique.
Used DI Spun Sugar on white cs using the watercolour technique. Added some Cadillac Pink Glimmer Mist. Ripped around edges and inked with DI Dusty Concord. The purple stuff behind, are sheets of DCWV Mat Stacks Mulberry Brights. Love this stuff. It's like handmade paper. You can see little veins in it. Great stuff to tear.
I also bought 3 "new-to-me" stencils. This is one of them. It's called Harlequinn. The stamp she's standing on is also a Harlequin design from TH.
Couldn't resist this sentiment! Goes well with Sheer! I stamped her on the pink, and then stamped her again on white cs and coloured her with chalks and then paper pieced her.
The flowers are 2 parts. The base is just left over background paper that I tore into a circle; inked around the edges with DI Dusty Concord and then "crunched" a bit. The top part is cut from TH Tattered Florals die using Wendy Vecchi Clearly For Art Modeling Film, in clear. After I cut it out, I stamped with Alcohol Ink in pink and purple. Heated them to mold them a bit. Applied black pearl flowers to centres.
Top left are 2 coloured bobby pins! I found a pkg of coloured bobby pins at The Dollar Store.

My Big Girl Yellow Card

I joined a crop group that meets once a month. We all make one card for a swap; picking names out of a hat. At the previous meet, we decided the card swap theme for our February get together would be a colour you don't use a lot for whatever reason. My colour is yellow. Specifically butter yellow. The yellow I ended up with, I don't mind. It's a deeper yellow.
I used a yellow Alcohol Ink and a bit of Butterscotch on glossy cs for the background. Then with a felt applicator and a circle stencil, I created some spots here and there. First time for this technique for me and I love the look!
This rather large girl is a stamp called "Chickadee" by Suzi Blu & Unity Stamps. I love Suzi Blu's big girl stamps! I have 2 and I am anxious to try out the other one.
As I've mentioned before, I LOVE paper piecing! I stamped her on the glossy paper after inking background. Then I stamped her on the flowered DP; cut her dress out. Then again on maroon cs; cut her sleeves, bows and collar out. Then again on this textured blue paper twice; cut her wings out. Added lace at the bottom of her dress. Stamped her again on white cs and coloured her face hand and neck with Pebbles chalks. Stamped her again on some brown print paper and again on blue paper for the bird she's holding. Cut out all these pieces and glued everything onto TH Grungepaper except her wings which I just glued straight onto the card.
Added bling paper clip and safety pin TH Tissue Tape, photo corner punch. The flower is done using the print paper I used for her dress. I tore 3 circles from the paper; different sizes. Inked edges with DI Vintage Photo. Added Distress Stickles Rock Candy to stiffen it. Added a red rhinestone in middle. The sentiment stamp is Tim Holtz. The card is a little warped because of the layering, but not too bad. I did apply paper to the inside and the back of the card.
What great fun this was to make! She is off living with Julie now, as Julie picked my name in the card swap. I picked Louise's name and she made a beautiful star fold card in blue, which is her least favourite colour to use. What is your least favourite colour to use?
If you haven't tried paper piecing, give it a go! Lot's of fun and you'll love the results.

To My Guy. Happy Valentine's Day!

Well, what's this you say? It's a labour of love! Made this for Mike. It started out as 12x12 browny beige card stock with splotches here and there, so the brown you see was already there.
I saw a Heidi Swapp Tutorial on masking & stamping. She had a heart mask and applied it to a 12x12 scrapbooking page and stamped all around the heart. I really liked the look of it and I thought I would make Mike's card using this technique. I didn't have a heart mask, so I traced TH's Grungeboard heart on to white paper and then cut it out. I then secured it with artist tape (it won't rip the paper when you take it off), and stamped to my heart's content (no pun intended!).
Using various stamps, I stamped aimlessly around the heart. When I was done, I took the heart off. Then with DI Aged Mahogany and sponge applicator, I coloured in the heart. Added Rock Candy Crackle Paint on top of the red and let it dry.
Stamped TH stamp, "To My Valentine" on same paper as background, cut it out, and popped it up on heart. Added some TH Music Tissue Tape, and other "stuff". Take a look:

Kitty Valentine - TSC#27 Love & Lace

I fell in love with this stamp! This cutie is on a sheet of cat stamps available at The Stampsmith Online Shop
This is a tag/card. The tag is attached at the top and opens from the bottom. I got a package of them at Michaels in the $1.50 bin! The papers are a valentine set from last year, My Mind's Eye, Be Loved. Love the colours! Very retro looking.
I stamped the kitty on glossy card stock and stamped with Color Box Archival Dye Inkpad "Mudslide". Added some ribbons, pearls, flowers (also from $1.50 bin!), tulle and a butterfly charm, held on with a tiny safety pin from Stampin' Up!
  Inside:
This sentiment is also a stamp on the Cat Sheet of stamps. The heart is a punch.  Papers used here are also from the same set.
There are 10 stamps on this sheet; 7 photo stamps and 3 sentiment/word stamps. Are they cute or what?!!

Gone With the Wind is my all time fav movie and book! This image is from The Stampsmith Online Shop. You can email Estelle if you are interested in this photo image stamp.  The quote is from the internet. I thought it was perfect for this image!
All the DP is from a 6x6 pad by Basic Grey called Cappella. The crochet lace is from The Dollar Store and the rosette tulle lace is from a local craft store, The Cutting Garden. The image is tinted with Pebbles chalks. Can you see? I inserted Tim Holtz filmstrip across the middle!

Oh! I almost forgot to tell you! Mike and I had a FABULOUS time at The Deep Purple concert Sunday night! They still rock hard! We had 3rd row seats! I caught Roger Glover's guitar pick!!! How awesome is that! It will make a fabulous addition along side my ticket on my scrapbook page of the concert!
  Have a great week!

This is one of the photos I took of Roger Glover. For those not familiar with DP, he is one of the original band members. The drummer, (in back) Ian Paice, is also one of the original members. I can't get "Smoke On The Water" out of my head!

Life's a Beach

Don't you wish you were on a beach somewhere? Or, maybe you are! This was fun to make. The lovely lady is a freebie from Fripperie and Butterflies. It was a black and white photo, but I put the image through Pixir, Retro Vintage Editing  and gave it the funky colour and the grungy black frame.
All papers are from My Mind's Eye Lost & Found - Madison Avenue and Lost & Found - Portobello Road 6x6 pad sets.
All the shells and the small piece of clear beach glass are from the beaches of Nova Scotia! I have jars of shells and some beach glass that I have collected over the years.
The gorgeous off white rosette with tulle lace is from a local paper craft store, The Cutting Garden

I turned one of the shells over and glued a "pearl" in it. The shell on the right is a sand dollar. The starfish seen here and the other one by her foot are rub-ons. Words are from computer.
Inside sentiment: "... when you're Retired!" Congratulations and let the relaxation begin! (Stampin' Up! stamps)

Long Lost Poe

And now for something completely different! I was going to post this a while ago, but it somehow got lost in the shuffle! This is a little ATC set I did using the Edgar Allan Poe digi stamps from The Octopode Factory.
My first ATCs! I printed the digit stamps out on transparent/vellum paper, cut them out and sprayed some  vellum adhesive on the backs and attached to the script paper which is from the Meadow Lark My Mind's Eye set. Added a black eyelet in each corner, along with a black photo corners.

Click on photos for larger images:
This is the cover and all the ATCs attached. Held together with a ball chain and a Tim Holtz Philosophy Tag.

The back cover. I LOVE my splatter stamps! Distress Ink Aged Mahogany is the best red for blood! I know. I'm excited over blood splatter ink. Creepy?
