Bling In Brown

One of my fav Stampsmith stamps. Her name is "Bling" and I love her attitude! The January challenge is underway over at The Stampsmith Blog. It's "Tag Art" and the hostess with the mostess, is the very talented Lynne.
The paper set I used is from K&Company Susan Wright Nature Collection. The brown rosette ribbon with tulle, I purchased from a local scrapbooking store, The Cutting Garden. I inserted a mini pearl into each rosette. The rich brown wired satin ribbon, I got at Michaels. And of course, I tinted Bling with Pebbles chalks. Stickles in Platinum, Silver and Gold used on her jewels. Bling on her rings.

On the back of the tag, I made a pocket across the tag with the same paper to hold a small note card, which I just made free hand. Here are different views of the back; with card in pocket, and then with the card out of the pocket to show both sides. On the yellow side is where you can write a personal note.

Bling is entered in:
1. Simon Says Stamp And Show Anything But A Card
2. Sunday Stamper: After The Gold Rush
3. Chalk-Ah-Lot Cafe: Anything Goes With Chalk

It was bitterly cold waiting for the bus today! -25C with the wind chill factor! Brrr!
Hope you are having a fabulous week! Keep warm and toasty! And if you are somewhere nice and warm, enjoy! (And if you are somewhere nice and warm and hot, I am really really jealous and I'd rather not know, thank you very much!)

Very proud! Bling in Brown was selected as one of the Chalkboard winners for the Chalk-Ah-Lot Cafe Challenge: Anything Goes With Chalk!
Congrats to Melissa who was also selected, and to Heartfelt Thanks who won the challenge!

Puppies & Snowflakes, Oh My!

A new challenge has started over at The Stampsmith. It's called "Tag Art". Full details are over at the The Stampsmith Challenge Blog.
For all you dog lovers out there! I'm a kitty cat lover, but how can you resist these two? They're from a sheet of stamps called "Puppies" available at The Stampsmith Online Shop. I stamped them on glossy card stock with Ancient Page black ink.
This gorgeous paper is from the BoBunny Snowfall 6x6 pad. The colours remind me of leather and blue jeans. Both ribbons and snowflakes are from Michael's.

This is the back of the tag. The pocket holds a large ticket that I made using TH tickets die cut. I cut the ticket out first in a piece of matching paper from the BoBunny set, then cut another ticket from kraft paper; then glued them together. The Blue side is where you would stamp a sentiment. The reverse side of the ticket is where you would write a personal note.

Entered in the following challenge:
The creative team over at Make My Monday Challenge Blog are looking for artwork with animals: MMM#31 - Animals

Whimsical Whimsies!

Happy New Year and I hope you all got some great inky & distressable stuff for Christmas! I was so disappointed that I didn't get ONE Tim Tag even started! I must start earlier with Christmas cards this year so I can play in the 12 Tags Of Christmas! So. That is New Year's resolution #1!
I have been collecting paint chips. I have far too many now, and I can't help myself when I go to Home Depot or other hardware stores. I make a beeline for the paint chip aisle and stuff my purse!
These stamps are just 4 of the 8 in the set called "Les Petites Whimsies" by the artist, Sandra Evertson. I purchased them from Stampington & Co. Stamped them on tones of peachy paint chips.
The sticker letters are Old Typewriter Keys, Nostalgiques (Sticko) by Rebecca Sower. Love them!
The background is done with numerous colours of Distress Inks using the watercolour technique. Tissue tape, and all the background stamps; crack stamp in the corners, dot stamp and harlequin stamp, are all TH. Added photo corners and some pearl bling.
New Year's resolution #2: Use up my paint chip stash!

This card is entered in:
  1. Gingersnap Creations Challenge: GC133: Chestnut Theme Challenge - Use a Set. You are asked to use a line or set of stamps.
  2. Simon wants us to use something old, something new. I thought the stamps were Steampunkish (Old) and the paint chips represent New. Simon Says Stamp and Show: Something Old...Something New
  3. The DT over at Crazy 4 Challenges want something new:  Crazy 4 Challenges: C4C118 Try or Do Something New
