Dads Day

This handsome quirky fellow with little dreams is from a "new-to-me" stamp set I bought back in March. It's from the Tim Holtz line, Winged Things. I paper pieced him.
Made this for my father-in-law, Rod for Father's Day. He'll be turning 90 this November! He's sharp as a whip; loves to read; does crosswords every morning; surfs the net and loves to watch golf. Will have to get my thinking cap on and make him a really special birthday card.
The papers are from BoBunny et cetera 6x6 pad. The blue Japanese Washi tape is called "Old Book" and I got it from a local art supply store called Deserres. Sentiment is from the computer and stuck on Ideal-ology Film Strip Ribbon. Pen nibs and gear is also Tim's. The coffee stain is actually in the paper, although I do have several coffee stain stamps.

I'm back! Went to Florida for 10 days, and man oh man, is it hot and sticky there! Went to visit friends in Cape Coral, toured around Fort Myers, Naples, Sanibel Island, and then drove down to Miami and spent 2 nights in South Beach. Love Art Deco! Had a great time!
This is another page for my heritage album. My dad, Roy (the gangsta!), and his dad, George. I always loved this photo. Used a lot of Tim stuff, beeswax on the cardboard, piece of burlap, took a hammer to a bottle cap. The 12x12 paper is from TPC Memory Lane - Remember When.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend. Time to get back into work mode for me!

TSC31: Humorous Birthday

A new month and a new challenge over at The Stampsmith Challenge Blog.  For the month of June, you are asked to come up with a humorous birthday creation, using at least one Stampsmith stamp.
I love this vintage lady! You can purchase "Not Again" at The Stampsmith online shop. You can do a lot with her!
All the paper is from the BoBunny Enchanted 6x6 pad. Gorgeous lace is from a local fabric store. The black rosettes with tulle are from a local paper craft store, The Cutting Garden. Sentiment is from my own head. Just a touch of pink chalk on her cheeks and bling here and there.

I printed off the sentiment on vellum and sprayed with vellum adhesive and stuck to some script paper from the BoBunny set.

The inside of the card. I made this for Louise who is part of my crafty card group that meet once a month. We also try and make birthday cards. Louise's birthday was May 2nd.

This is the back of the card. It looks like it came unglued! Oh well! It's homemade, what can I say!
Have a great weekend! Dig out your Stampsmith stamps and make someone's birthday special!

Get inky!
