Spring Has Sprung!

Spring is here! The weather has even shifted a bit here; getting a little warmer. Hopefully no more snow!
Got new stamps...again! This birdie is from the TH Artful Flight set. The collage background are pieces of one of my fav paper sets, K&Company Jubilee; regular and specialty sets. Inked the edges with DI Vintage Photo.
Stamped the bird on some of the Jubilee blue paper and then glued on to Grungepaper. The sentiment stamp is from Michael's $1.50 bin. Added some TH Tissue Tape here and there. I made the simple flower by tearing pieces of paper in a circle; Added some DI Vintage Photo around the edges.
The gorgeous pink rosettes with tulle are from a local paper craft shop, The Cutting Garden. Comes in different colours.
Here are a couple of closeups, the inside and back of the card:

Inside the card. Pattern is light enough so you can still write a message, or use a stamp

The back of the card. When I make a card now, I add paper to the back. Gives it stability if you have a lot of bling on it and it just feels finished.

Laugh Out Loud

When I saw him for the first time, I laughed right out loud! When you see vintage photos, most of the time the people in the photos don't even crack a smile. This guy is having more than a giggle! I found him HERE
I made this tag for me, and he's at work sitting on my filing cabinet. The background paper, "business cards", ruler paper at bottom are all Tim Holtz Paper Stash. You might have noticed the profession I gave him. Since he is probably a serious fellow most of the time, being an Undertaker and all, he has to relieve his stress once in awhile with a good belly laugh! I know. I'm making up stories for my cards again!
Used TH gear and paper clip, as well as his coffee stain stamp. The turn key, pointing finger and metal ruler at top are all Bead Landing found at Michaels. The alarm clock, 2 screw brads and "Laugh" token are from my stash (don't know where I got them!). The sentiment stamp, "You Are Laugh Out Loud Funny" I got at Michaels in their $1.50 bin! Can't beat that!
Here are a couple of closeups and the back of the tag:

Concertina Flip 'N Fold

I've got the "Fold Bug" and it's all The Stampsmith's doing! The challenge for March is Flip 'N Fold.
This is called the Concertina or Accordion Fold. The first 2 ladies are from The Stampsmith Flappers #1 set, and the third one is from the Flappers #3 set. All were stamped on glossy cs with Color Box Archival Dye "Mudslide" ink.
The base of the card is some double sided DP called, "You & Me" from KaiserKraft's "Sweet Nothings Collection". All sentiment stamps & butterfly stamps are Tim Holtz. The "L is for Love" stamp is Stampin' Up!. The heart is done the old fashion way; cut out free hand from a scrap of DP paper, then inked with a script stamp. Both the "L" stamp and heart were spritzed with some Tsukineko Pssst! Sheer Shimmer Sparkle Spritz. Flower on the first panel is from Michaels. Edge punch at top is Martha Stewart Eyelet punch. I added the last panel as I didn't want the last image to be exposed. Added some lace and DP to it. Used DI Tattered Rose on some Hug Snug Seam Binding. Love that stuff!
 Here are some closeups:

This is the back. I attached the ribbon under a piece of paper with my stamp on it.

This is the front when it's all tied up.

Hope you give this fold a try. Lots of how-to videos on YouTube. Also, check out The Stampsmith Store. You will love these stamps!

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
1. Gingersnap Creations: GC141 Chestnut Challenge Granny's Photo Album
2. The Stamp Man: Vintage

Have a great week! Thanks for stopping by. Muchly appreciated!

TSC28: Flip 'n Fold - Vintage Diamond Fold

It's March 1st and that means a new challenge over at The Stampsmith! This lovely lady is from the "Isn't She Lovely" sheet
Valerie is hosting this months theme called, Flip 'N Fold. Here's what she's looking for: "find interesting ways of incorporating folds into a project. For example, use an interesting new fold if you are creating a card, incorporate pieces or parts that flip up, down or open on your project, or put folded pieces of paper or fabric into your creation in some way.
We did a Diamond Fold Card in our crop group, and I thought it would be perfect for this.
I stamped her on glossy cs using Color Box Archival Dye Wicked Black ink. I then used DI Old Paper with an applicator and applied on top of her. (Thanks Val!), then inked edges with DI Vintage Photo. Gave her a few wrinkles here and there and tore the corner. As I told some friends, the story is her sweetie has been carrying her photo in his wallet for some time, that's why she's a little "worn and torn"!
Holding her together is a decorative paper clip from K&Company.
Here are some closeups, and what's inside:
Front, unfolded:

Once I did one, I couldn't stop! I made 3 more; A bird, A flower and a butterfly. Here they are:

Bird Diamond Fold Card:

The bird is from Stampin' Up! I stamped it on DP from the same set as the card; cut him out; glued to grungepaper. The rosettes with tulle were white. I sprayed them with Glimmer Mist in a blue (can't remember what the name of the colour is!) that matched the paper. Torn pieces of paper under bird are from another paper set. Heart doily from Michaels, cut in half.

Flower Diamond Fold Card:

Flower was made by tearing circles of different sizes of the same paper ; inking edges with DI Vintage Photo; then layering them.

Butterfly Diamond Fold Card:

Butterfly is TH die glued to grungepaper; stamped with script stamp. Sprayed with Sparkle Sheer Spritz. The filigree clock hand is from Bead Landing which I bought at Michaels. My new favourite "findings"!
