O Joy! A Non-Traditional Christmas!

I love O Joy! He's a loveable little elf created by Jill Penny & Daniel Torrente and can be purchased at Stampotique Originals.
This tag was fun to make! This gorgeous paper is from Bo Bunny's Winter Joy (how appropriate!) set. The little purple trees are cut out from the back of the bluey teal paper and popped up with foam squares. Added a couple of plastic snowflakes. The best item I bought this year was a bag of plastic snowflakes; 3 sizes of snowflakes in the bag! Sentiment is from computer. I stamped O Joy on white cs; chalked him up and attached to tag!

This tag is going in the following challenges:

1. SDC43 It's a non traditional Christmas
2. Shopping Our Stash #27: Christmas or Winter

Have a fabulous Thanksgiving, those who are celebrating it tomorrow! Happy shopping too! Thanks for stopping by! Make sure you see the other entries in the challenges! Awesome art out in blogland!

O Joy won TOP 3 in the Shopping Our Stash #27: Christmas or Winter Challenge! Thank you DT and congrats to Debby and Pam who also were picked Top 3! A big hand to all who participated! Awesome art!

A Joyful Christmas Angel

I do believe this is my first Christmas card post! I got new stamps. Had to try them out! The angel, sentiment and music stamps are from Tim's Joyful Song set. The flourish at the top is also Tim's (can't remember the set it's from at the moment!).
For the background, I used 3 Distress Ink blues on white cs; Stormy Sky, Tumbled Glass and Weathered Wood. I did the Wrinkle Free Distress Ink technique from Tim's book, "Compendium Of Curiosities". This is a "go-to" technique for me. I use it all the time. The results are always different!
Stamped the background with the music stamp in the 3 blue inks, then inked the edges with DI Vintage Photo and tore the bottom. Glued onto black cs and attached that beautiful gold ribbon (from Michael's) on bottom. I stamped the angel onto white cs and then glued her on to Grungepaper; cut her out and chalked her. Did I tell you how much I LOVE chalk?! Popped her up with foam squares.
Stamped sentiment and highlighted "here and there" with gold glitter pen & added bling to the corner flourishes. Added Platinum Stickles to her wings and from her hand to the sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by! Leave a word or two before you go! Make sure you head over to the challenges and see the entries. Awesome art out in blogland!

She's Got The Look

Isn't she something? This sassy lady is called The Look and she is available at The Stampsmith Store in unmounted rubber or wood mounted. I used rose chalk on her cheeks, and added some red glitter to her lips. There is some black tulle under the sentiment. Love that stuff! The gorgeous black velvet ribbon is from my stash of unknown origin! Sentiment is from Michael's $1.50 bin. All the paper is Lost & Found - Union Square 6x6 pad set.
This is another card I made for the Ribbons & Lace Challenge that's still going on over at The Stampsmith Challenge Blog, along with the 1st Anniversary Blog Hop! You still have time to join in on both! There is free rubber to be won! You can't win if you don't play! Get Inky!

Click on The Girl With The Kitty at the top of my blog on the sidebar. She will take you to the Blog Hop and the challenge.

They Say It's Your Birthday

Birthdays everywhere! Made this tag/card for Shannon who turned 20 something this month.  Background was inked with DI Tattered Rose and a blue DI, which I can't remember the name of! Then I stamped it with a TH script stamp. Next, Perfect Pearls Cappuccino on top. Can't really seen the shimmer in the photo. Added some TH stamps.

Jasmin, as she is called, and the large star are both Stampotique stamps designed by Jo Capper-Sandon. Love these stamps! I water coloured her using DI and a water brush. Cut her out and popped her with foam squares. Black lace at bottom is from KaiserKraft.

Couple of closeups for you (click on photos for larger images):

This is a photo showing the awesome ribbon. Almost out of it, as I have been using it on almost every tag! It's from Michael's and was part of their Halloween ribbon collection.

This tag is entered in:
Simon Says Stamp and Show: Women Only Go have a peek at the other entries. Fabulous art in blogland! :)

Well it's "hump" day! Having a pretty mild November here. Hope your having a very creative and inky week! Thanks for looking!

Golf Anyone?

This tag is for Mike's dad who turns 89 November 20th! He LOVES watching golf, so this is perfect! I love this Stampabilities Vintage Golfer stamp.
Cuttlebug EF is called Argyle; safety pin, button brad and twill is Stampin' Up! Paper clip is TH. The 2 square metal embellies are Michael's $1.50 bin. Underneath the golfer is a piece of wrinkled TH Kraft Glassine paper; page torn from an old paperback, inked with DI Antique Linen and Vintage Photo; ruler sticker is TH also.
Closeup (click on photos for larger images):
The Mark Twain quote is from the web. How true! Mike and I golf, at least I try to! It's a great way to get some exercise in and something we can enjoy together. Golf can be a good walk spoiled depending on the game you're having!

Entering this tag in the following challenges:
1. Fashionable Stamping Challenge #8: Times Gone By
2. The Stamp Man: Collage/Collage Background

Thanks for stopping by! Leave a word or two before you go! Got to get back to my Christmas tags. Promised myself I would get at them earlier this year! So far so good!

Thoughts of Ribbons & Lace

I really love this stamp! Her name is Serena and you can purchase her at The Stampsmith Online Store. She comes in another pose, which I must get!
I don't use pattern paper much any more. I also don't buy singles. I have learned my lesson! I buy sets, or pads because you know all the paper in that package or pad will match.
I'm also "saving" my favourite paper sets. Why? I don't know! What if I use them all and then I find out I can't get them anymore? What then?? What would I do? Funny how the mind works!
This gorgeous paper set is from Pink Paislee, the Butterfly Garden Collection. Love it! So ethereal and airy! The butterflies are from a sheet of paper within the set, which I cut out and popped up with foam squares.
The satin ribbon with the beads is from Michaels, and the crochet lace is from the Dollar Store. Added some mini pale peach pearls and used the EK Success photo corner punch.
Love chalk on these photo images! I use the Pebbles sets in the Metallic Creams and the Pearlescents.
Make sure you hop over to the 1st Anniversary Blog Hop at The Stampsmith Challenge. It's not too late. You have until the end of the month. Look for the "Girl and Her Kitty" button on my sidebar to take you there. You could win some serious rubber! And, while you're there enter the Ribbons & Lace challenge! We would love to have you join us!
