Karin, Bookmark & Primary Colours, Oh My!

Click on photo for larger image
I love it when the stars align and everything is in sinc (not the boy band), and the moon is bright and high in the sky!?

This is Karin (with an "i"). She is a Stampotique stamp. I had to stamp her and then scan her so she would fit on the matching bookmark. I made this tag & bookmark for a co-worker, who's name is Karen (with an "e").

Normally we don't "do birthdays" at work, but Karen was celebrating one of the "Big O's". I put a back on the tag, so it opens up like a card and I included a sentiment inside. I gave it to her early because she is going to be away for her birthday, and for selfish reasons, I wanted to post it before the challenge deadlines!

The What-Not's & How-To's
- Distress Inks used: Fired Brick, Faded Jeans, Dried Marigold
- Shot of Glimmer Mists: Red Velvet, Sun Sisters, Caribbean Blue
- Coloured Karin with pencils and used Gamsol to blend
- Sentiments on tag & bookmark are from the computer; "40" is a rub-on found in my stash
- Flower is done using Clearly For Arts Modeling Film in clear and in white
- Yellow fabric brad is from an old K&Company set
- Black crochet lace is from KaiserCraft
- Bling brad on flower, and yellow ribbon from Michaels

This tag & matching bookmark is entered in the following challenges:

Closeups of the tag & bookmark. Click on photos for larger images
The front of the tag with the bookmark attached at the back of the tag. You can see the ribbon that's on the bookmark sticking out at the top.
Flip it over and this is the back view with the bookmark attached to the back of the tag, through the hole. The fabric brad you see on the front of the tag holds the bookmark in place, on the back. You can see the prongs in the hole. I stamp all the cards I make with this stamp you see on the bottom, on the back of each card, along with a date stamp of the persons special day.
Bottom of the tag
The flower & the black crochet lace
Top of the tag
The yellow fabric brad with a small bling in the middle is through the hole. I printed off the words on white CS, then inked with DI Old Paper, then inked edges with DI Black Soot. Same with words on bookmark.
Top of the bookmark; just below the hole
Don't you just love her wicked smile! What IS she thinking?

The video pick for this post is PERFECT! Can you guess? It's from one of my all time favourite musicals, "The Music Man". Here's Robert Preston and Shirley Jones  performing "Marian the Librarian"! Enjoy!

Have you hugged your Librarian today?

Thanks for stopping by! Make sure you head on over to the challenges and see the other entries. Have a snoop around and leave a word or two before you go! Have a very inky & creative week!

PS - I only have one of the small boxes done in my Configurations Box! I think I think too much!

The colours are blended so beautifully, not always so easy to do with bright colours.
Both the bookmark and tag are equally stunning.
I am sure your friend was thrilled to receive this.
